About This Course
This course invites participants into a deep exploration of kaʻao and moʻolelo through a distinctly Hawaiian lens. Grounded in a close reading of Pele and Hiʻiaka as recorded by Nathaniel B. Emerson, participants will engage in critical analysis, historical contextualization, and huakaʻi to uncover the layered meanings within the moʻolelo.
