About This Course

In this course, we explore adaptability as a core value in teaching and learning, drawing inspiration from the moʻolelo of Māui to understand problem-solving, experimentation, and strategic thinking. Kumu will examine the shifting landscape of education and reflect on how their perspectives, attitudes, and practices shape their ability to adapt. Through the six key areas of teaching and learning most impacted by change, kumu will identify opportunities to evolve classroom structures and pedagogy while maintaining a haumāna-centered approach. By integrating the Teacher-in-the-Loop model and exploring AI as a tool for innovation, kumu will learn to leverage technology with intention and responsibility. This course provides a foundation for embracing change with confidence, ensuring that adaptability strengthens both teaching practices and student learning experiences.
